How to make the most out of Twitter as a business.
An overview of Twitter in 2019:
Twitter can be a platform that is underrated when it comes to business potential.
The site allows you to network and communicate with pretty much anyone who has an account. Not using the site is definitely a missed opportunity for your brand. Twitter is used for individuals and businesses to share their opinions on topics, speak to others and also by many businesses to share updates, help with customer service issues and promoting their content.
In 2017 Twitter upped it’s character limit to 280, allowing users who were once able to tweet only 140 characters, the freedom to share more. This allowed companies to send more detailed responses to their customers with regards to any issues. Alongside this, the platform added a feature which links your tweets together when what you’re trying to say doesn’t fit within one tweet.
Although these are all great changes for all users, it’s worth noting these are game-changing for brands.
Twitter chats:
Twitter chats are a great way to build your following on Twitter and also promote your company.
By searching through hashtags and finding chats which appeal to your brand, this then allows you to chat with others. A good place to start is by searching your niche on Twitter or where your business is based. Doing this allows you to locate hashtags and chats in which you’d like to engage.
Some hashtags have weekly chats or even daily ones. Promote your business, but also share the content of others in the chat. Making those connections is key for mastering your social strategy.
Create hashtags:
When it comes to hashtags, these are still used on Twitter despite being extended to other social media platforms.
Create your own hashtag for your business and share all of your content under this, across all social media platforms. It allows your customers to see your past and present posts and keep up to date with your brands story in general. If you’re not sure of the hashtags to use, you can search ideas on Hashtagify.
Share what’s new:
Releasing a new product and want to build a buzz around it? Twitter is the place to do this.
By sharing new information in this way, it allows consumers to discuss product reveals before they happen and by giving them hints can excite users more. Sharing this on social media does allow your fans to feel more included in what you’re up to as a brand.
You can also use Twitter to share new content published on your site such as blog posts, new products and services, etc. This is great for your business as it allows customers to reach you without having to pay for any advertising.
Customer service:
Have you ever had bad customer service and decided to share it online? Of course you have, it happens from time to time to us all!
Customer Service feedback online is something an increasing number of us do and the reason for it is, firstly to let fellow consumers know about your experiences and secondly to grab the attention of the brand themselves.
Sharing negative thoughts about a company online can be detrimental to their company. So by using Twitter for customer service issues, you can speak to the person directly about their issue raised and clear it up before things get out of hand. Sharing positive feedback on social media can also benefit the brand.
